Opal Ice Maker - Not Turning On (Models with Round Button on Front)

It is very frustrating to anticipate having a glass filled with nugget ice and your favorite beverage only to find that the Opal Ice Maker will not turn on and produce ice. If your Opal won't turn on when you press the button on the front, the following tips may resolve the concern.

 

Diagnosing the Opal Ice Maker That Will Not Turn On

  • Press and hold the front button for 3 seconds. This toggles the Opal between Day mode (interior light on) and Night mode (interior light off).

  • Check to make sure it is plugged into a working outlet and the breaker hasn't been tripped.

  • Make sure the button is being fully pressed.

    1. Hold the button down for 10 seconds.

    2. If it is still not responding, try using two fingers (or both thumbs together) to press the Power button.

    3. If that doesn't work, try to use the heel of your hand to turn the Opal On or Off.

  • If you're Connected to the App on your smartphone, check or reset the On/Off schedule on your app.

  • Put the Opal in Cleaning Mode.

    1. Put your Opal in cleaning mode using the switch on the back of the Ice Maker.

    2. If the Display Ring begins to pulse yellow, press the front button.

    3. If the water begins pumping and the display ring begins to rotate, your front button is working fine. Switch the appliance back to ice mode and see if it is working correctly.
