Range & Wall Oven - Turkey Mode and How To Use It
Turkey Mode is being released just in time for Thanksgiving. Turkey modes are designed to simplify the process of making a juicy, golden brown turkey. Our newest precision mode, Turkey Mode takes advantage of the temperature probe and convection system to do the hard work of cooking the turkey for you.
Using Turkey Mode
- It can be MONITORED from the SmartHQ™ App for models that have an LCD touch screen oven control panel.
- It can be STARTED and MONITORED from the SmartHQ™ App for models that do not have an LCD oven control panel.
Turkey Mode must be used with the oven temperature probe. Correct probe positioning is essential to achieving a fully cooked turkey. You can check out instructional materials posted at geappliaces.com/upgrades for relevant instructional content including articles, recipes and videos to help you correctly use Turkey Mode.
For information about the use of the Probe and Turkey Mode, please take a look at our Range & Wall Oven - Turkey Mode FAQs and Tips article. You can also check out the Top Turkey Mode Tips on our website.
How to Use Turkey Mode on Models WITH LCD Oven Controls
Turkey Mode can be accessed in the Precision Cooking menu on the Oven Control Panel at Precision Cooking>Meats>Whole Turkey.
Please Note: For a limited time (until shortly after Thanksgiving), the LCD Control Panel display will have instant access to Turkey Mode from the main screen of the LCD owner interface via a “Turkey Mode” shortcut button.
On LCD Control Panel models, the current probe temperature can be monitored from the SmartHQ™ App. However, Turkey Mode cannot be started from the App for LCD models. The Turkey Mode must be started using the LCD Control Panel.
Turkey Mode walks you through a simple oven setup in a manner similar to other Precision Cooking modes. The LCD flow for Turkey Mode on the Control Panel is as follows:
