GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer - Riser Installation

Your GE Profile™ UltraFast Combo Washer/Dryer is only compatible with a riser and should not be installed on a pedestal. Therefore, only the riser model number GFR0728 is approved for use with the Combo. Even though the riser shares the same installation instructions with the pedestal, we do not recommend any pedestal, including model GFP1528, for use with the Combo because of the overall height and weight of the product.

How to Install the Riser (GFR0728) with the Combo

It is critical that the shipping hardware remain in place on the Combo. The shipping bolts and brackets should only be removed after the Combo has been installed on the riser and will remain upright. Removing the shipping hardware too early could result in damage to the Combo. Here are the steps to install a riser on your Combo:

  1. Align the riser's rear bracket with the mounting holes in the riser. The bracket should sit fully on the riser and not overhang. Secure the bracket on both sides with the provided hex head screws.
  2. Install the riser's front brackets on both sides.
  3. Lean the riser onto its back and fully install all four leveling legs.
  4. Lay the Combo on its back on a protected surface and ensure the leveling legs are threaded into the minimum height position.
  5. Install the front brackets onto the bottom of the Combo by lining up the two bracket holes closest to the front of the unit with the two outermost on the bracket. The bracket should not go beyond the edge of the Combo. Secure the bracket to the Combo by partially installing the top screw. Fasten the bottom screw completely, and then return the top screw and completely tighten it. Repeat for the other side.
  6. Install the rear brackets by using the top two holes on the bottom of the Combo with the tab on the bracket facing the outside. Secure the bracket in place by partially installing the top screw. Fasten the bottom screw completely, and then return to the top screw and completely tighten. Repeat for the other side.
  7. Lift the riser and hook the front brackets of the riser onto the front brackets of the Combo. The brackets must be properly seated. Make sure that the rear brackets of the riser align with the rear brackets of the Combo. The rear Combo brackets should be on the inside of the rear riser brackets.
  8. Loosely fasten all four bracket pairs with the provided Torx screws. Do not fasten completely.
  9. Carefully stand the Combo upright and completely secure the front and rear bracket screws on both sides.
  10. When the Combo with the riser is near the final installation location, ensure that it is completely level from front to back and side to side by placing a spirit level on top. Adjust the leveling legs as needed on the riser, using a 9/16" wrench. Ensure that you tighten the leg lock nuts against the bottom of the riser to minimize vibration.
  11. Lower the Combo leveling legs so that they make full contact with the riser. It is important that all four legs are snugly tightened to the top of the riser.
  12. It is now safe to remove the shipping hardware from the Combo. Remember, the shipping hardware must be removed before using the Combo.

How to Move Your Combo When Installed on the Riser

In the event you need to move your Combo Washer/Dryer installed on a riser to a new location, we recommend removing the riser first. It is not necessary to remove the attachment hardware/brackets from the Combo and the riser. However, before you lay the Combo on its back to remove the riser, you will need to reinstall the shipping bolts and plastic spacers and keep them in place through the move until the riser is reattached and the Combo is stood up near its final location.
