Range & Wall Oven- Broiling Tips
These are basic tips to follow when broiling in your oven. To properly use the Broil feature, we recommend that you check out the information provided below.
Using the Broil Feature for an Oven Correctly
Be sure you have chosen the correct Broil setting, Hi or Lo (on models so equipped). The oven rack should be in the recommended rack position for the specific food you are broiling as listed in the Owner's Manual for the specific model you own.
For information about Hi and Lo Broil, check out our Range & Wall Oven - Hi and Lo Broil Feature article.
Use a broil pan and grid specifically designed for broiling. Using the grid with the broil pan will allow the fat to drain off the meat into the pan.
If using aluminum foil, it should be fitted tightly to the pan or grid and slits should be cut through the foil to correspond with the openings in the grid.
If an Electric Range or Wall Oven is connected to 208 Volt power, preheat on Broil for 10 minutes.
