Ranges - Cleaning a Continuous Clean Oven
Continuous clean ovens have a porous ceramic surface that tends to prevent grease spatters from forming beads or droplets while also "masking" any spills that have occurred. About Continuous Clean Ovens
Cleaning continuous clean ovens:
- Remove all cooking utensils (broil pan/rack) and oven racks. Clean these by hand with soapy water and a scouring pad.
- Close the door and set the oven temperature control to Bake at 400 degrees F.
- Allow the oven to run for at least 4 hours.
- Repeated cycles may be necessary before an improvement in appearance is noticed.
Heavy spills should be removed as soon as possible after the oven has cooled. Use a small amount of water and a stiff nylon brush. Follow by blotting the water up with a paper towel.
Do not use:
- Commercial oven cleaners
- Soap or detergent,
- Silicone sprays
- Coarse steel pads or coarse steel brushes
