Advantium - Reasons Why the Top of Food May be Overcooked

Even with the pre-programmed Speedcook recipes, cooking outcomes may vary in your Advantium oven due to variations in food composition and size. Thankfully, there are a few simple tweaks you may make to account for the variations in foods. Please read the advice below if your food is overcooked on top after Speedcooking in your Advanitum oven.

Tips to Avoid Overcooking the Top of Food

  • Try manually decreasing the Upper lamp (U) power level. Typically, thicker foods and foods with high sugar or fat content, such as muffins, roasts, and casseroles, will have better cooking results with a lower setting. For more information about setting the power level on your Advantium, please consult your Owner's Manual. Download a copy of the Owner's Manual.
  • If using a pre-programmed recipe, remember to turn the food over when prompted. If you are manually cooking, check the top for doneness and turn during the cooking cycle if necessary.
  • Make sure the serving size is appropriate for the cooking program you have selected.
  • Avoid putting sauces (like barbecue sauce) on the food too soon because that will make the top appear overdone.
  • The placement of the food on the metal tray is important. See the Cookware Tips section of Advantium Speedcook Oven Recipes & Cooking Tips.
