Slide-In Range - Overhang or Overlap
Most Slide-In Gas and Electric Ranges manufactured before 2018 have a cooktop that will overhang or overlap the countertop by approximately 1/2" on each side. This is the design that most of us are familiar with since this design was common for decades.
Overhanging or Overlapping Cooktop Feature
- Slide-In Ranges generally require a 30" wide cabinet cutout opening. However, some product dimensions may show the overall width of the range itself as 31". This is due to the overhang or overlap of the cooktop surface. This is applicable to models manufactured prior to 2018.
- Drop-In Ranges will always have an overhanging cooktop. This applicable to older as well as current models.
No Overhanging or Overlapping Cooktop Feature
Slide-In Ranges manufactured in 2018 and later do not have an overhang or overlap. These models have a Slide-In Range filler kit accessory available, if needed. For more information, take a look at our
