Advantium Oven - Speedcooking
In Speedcook mode, the Advantium oven uses power from high intensity halogen lamps, a ceramic heater, a convection system and microwaves to cook food from the top, bottom and interior simultaneously to seal in moisture and flavor.
See how the Advantium works:
The Advantium is pre-set to cook over 175 different foods. When using the pre-set menu, the power levels are already selected for the food selected from the menu.
Each power level gives you halogen lamp or ceramic heater power and microwave energy for a certain percentage of the time. These power levels can also be adjusted when using the pre-set menu.
When using the Advantium for speedcooking, use only the metal tray(s) specified for use with this oven. Put the food or non-metal oven-safe container directly on the metal tray; do not use the wire rack. The Owner's Manual covers the proper cookware in detail. Download a copy of the Owner's Manual.
Any non-metal oven safe-dish can be used during speedcooking, such as:
- Glass or ceramic casserole dishes, pie plates and other heat-safe cookware.
- Food can be placed directly on the metal tray or metal grill tray (on some models). Use the metal tray as you would use a shallow baking pan or baking tray.
Do not use the following cookware or coverings:
- Use of the glass or white ceramic tray can affect cooking performance, and could also cause the tray to crack.
- Silicone and "oven safe" plastic cookware cannot be used because the temperature in the oven can exceed the temperatures recommended by the cookware manufacturers.
- Do not cover food with metal lids, opaque oven safe lids, foil, plastic lids, plastic wrap, wax paper, or parchment paper when speedcooking. Clear glass Pyrex, CorningWare, and similar oven safe lids should be used if food needs to be covered when speedcooking.
- Do not use cooking or roasting bags.
- Do not cover the turntable, metal trays or any part of the oven with metal foil.
- Do not use the wire oven rack for speedcooking.
Cooking tips:
- Be sure to select a cookware size that will rotate easily.
- Fresh meat, chicken, fish or seafood that has been frozen should be thawed before cooking. The microwave defrost feature can be used. For other frozen prepackaged foods, follow the package directions.
- Arrange food on the metal trays as recommended below to ensure consistent and even browning:
-
- Circular pattern - Ex: biscuits, cookies
- Spoke pattern - Ex: crescent rolls, breadsticks
- Side by Side pattern - Ex: steaks, pork chops
- Single layer - Ex: appetizers
Caution: The oven and door will get very hot when speedcooking, convection baking, broiling, warming or toasting. Cookware will become hot. Oven mitts will be needed to handle the cookware.
