Range & Wall Oven - What to Remove Before Self-Cleaning

Using the self-clean cycle is an easy way to clean your oven. The self-clean cycle uses very high temperatures of up to 885° Fahrenheit to clean the oven interior.

Preparing the Oven Interior for the Self-Clean Cycle

Remove the following items from the oven prior to running the self-clean cycle.

  • It is important to remove all items from the oven, including cooking probes, foil, silicone mats or liners, cookware and pans.
  • Racks should also be removed except for "no scrub" or "self-clean" racks. Racks labeled as "no scrub" or "self-clean" can be left in the oven. The Owner's Manual for your specific model will indicate whether they are self-clean racks.
  • We don't recommend using your oven for storage or lining the shelves or floor with foil or silicone mats. However, if they are used and left in the oven during self-clean, damage to the oven may occur. Make sure all items are removed from the oven.
