Dishwasher - Door is Not Aligned

If a Dishwasher door is not aligned or appears to be crooked, it may be because the door has come off one of its hinges. A misaligned door can cause leaking from around the door. To verify, open the door slightly and check both hinges.

Correcting a Misaligned Door

The following procedure is applicable to many Dishwasher models. Please try this in an attempt to correct a Dishwasher door that is not aligned properly.

  1. Open the door slightly to about a 15 degree angle from the tub.
  2. Lift the door and move it back onto both hinges.
  3. When the door properly seats into place, you will hear a loud click. The door should now open and close freely.
  4. If the door is not opening and closing smoothly, repeat these steps.
