Dishwasher - Door Not Closing Properly
If the door on your dishwasher will not close or latch properly, there are a few things to check prior to considering the need for repair service. Please review the tips provided below for taking care of this situation.
Checking the Installation
If the dishwasher was not installed correctly, we suggest that you contact the installer or refer to the Installation Instructions to reinstall the appliance. The warranty on the dishwasher does not cover installation issues.
- If the door is hitting the cabinet, it will not close properly and could result in leaking. The dishwasher must be aligned in the cabinet so it does not interfere with the closing of the door.
- Make sure the dishwasher is leveled.
Models With Height Adjustable Racks
Make sure the upper rack is in the correct position.
- The rack is adjustable up or down 2" but should not be raised or lowered on one side only.
- If the rack is not level, it will not push in all the way. This prevents the door from closing all the way.
Door Not Aligned
If your dishwasher door is not aligned or appears to be crooked, it may be because the door has come off one of its hinges. A misaligned door can cause leaking from around the door. To verify, open the door slightly and check both hinges.
