Opal Ice Maker - Display Ring is Solid Yellow or Flashing Yellow (Models with a Round Button on the Front)
If the display ring around the round button on the front of the Opal Ice Maker is solid yellow or flashing yellow, it means the appliance is in cleaning mode.
Water quality is very important to the function and required maintenance of your Ice Maker. Minerals from water can build up in the Opal over time. If there is a build-up of minerals, the Ice Maker will need to be cleaned. The Opal only requires the use of potable (safe to drink) water. Some owners may choose to use only distilled water in their Opal. If using only distilled water, you will most likely not need to remove mineral deposits. Even bottled water can have a high mineral content.
Checking the Opal Ice Maker
- Switch the Opal to the ice making mode.
- Let the Opal run for 10 minutes in this mode.
- At the end of the 10 minutes, take note of whether the air blowing out from the appliance is warm.
