Opal Ice Maker - Display Ring is White but Bin is Not Full (Models with a Round Button on the Front)

When the Opal Ice Maker is working normally, the display ring turns white when the ice bin is full.

 

If the display ring is white but the bin is not full or even empty, this could indicate a malfunctioning sensor or a build-up of minerals.

  • Minerals from your water can build up in the Opal over time. If there is a mineral build-up, the Opal Ice Maker will need to be cleaned.

  • Water quality is very important to the function and required maintenance of your Ice Maker. To prevent or reduce mineral build-up in the Opal, we recommend using distilled water. Even bottled water can have a high mineral content.

 

If your Opal Ice Maker used to make ice and fill the bin but is now only occasionally making ice or is not filling the bin, you will need to clean your Opal.
