Opal Ice Maker - Defrost Mode
Your Opal Ice Maker or Opal Ice Maker Dispenser will defrost when needed. When your Opal needs defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 30 to 45 minutes. It may only take 10 to 20 minutes on the Dispenser model. During this time, the Ice Maker will not respond when you press any buttons, and it will not make ice.
Defrosting the Opal Ice Maker Dispenser Model Only
- If the Defrost indicator is blinking, this indicates that you should put the machine through a cleaning cycle. Press and hold the Clean button for 3 seconds to start.
- If the Opal is going into Defrost Mode too frequently; for example, every day, or there are no sounds indicating that the auger is frozen, please visit our Opal Ice Maker Dispenser - Defrost Issues article for more information.
