Range & Wall Oven - New Oven Not Cooking Properly
If your new range or wall oven doesn't cook like your old one, this can be normal. Your new oven may have a different cooking system from your old oven and therefore may cook differently than your old oven. Also, an old model may have had a thermostat that varied in temperature provided in the oven due to its age.
Diagnosing a Concern with a New Oven Not Cooking Properly
For the first few uses, follow your recipe times and temperatures carefully and use the rack positions recommended in the Owner's Manual. You can also test to see if your oven is cooking properly using the "biscuit test". For more information, please take a look at our Range & Wall Oven - Oven Temperature Bake Test article.
If you still think your new oven is too hot or too cold, you can adjust the temperature yourself to meet your specific cooking preference. See the "Adjust the Oven Thermostat" "Do It Yourself" section in the Owner's Manual for instructions for your specific model.
