GE Appliance - Premium Finish Cleaning Tips
We recommend that the interior and exterior Premium Finish surfaces on appliances be treated similar to high-end coatings on automobiles. These finishes are not engineered for use with soap-filled scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, any cleaning product containing chlorine bleach or abrasive cloths and paper towels. Use of these types of products may scratch and/or dull the finish.
In order to avoid scratching or damaging Premium Finish surfaces, they should be cleaned with a soft, clean cloth or microfiber cloth, warm water and a mild soap or detergent solution. The appliance finish surface should then be wiped dry with a soft, clean cloth or microfiber towel to avoid streaking or water spotting.
Black Stainless, Black Slate & Slate
Keep in mind these finishes are not engineered for use with soap-filled scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, any cleaning product containing chlorine bleach or abrasive cloths and paper towels. Use of these types of products may scratch and/or dull the finish. Do not use cleaners intended specifically for stainless steel on Black Stainless. Cerama Bryte™ Appliance Cleaner (WX10X392) can be used. NOTE: Other Cerama Bryte™ products should not be used, only Cerama Bryte™ Appliance Cleaner is approved.
Stainless Steel
In order to care for Stainless Steel, we additionally recommend regularly using an oil based polish to keep this exterior finish bright and glossy. Using a soft polishing cloth while wiping with the grain will help keep your Stainless Steel appliances shiny. You can also check out our GE Appliance - How to Clean Stainless Steel article.
