Air Conditioners - Poor Air Flow
If your air conditioner is not putting out much cold air or there is not much air flow from the air conditioner:
Operation & Settings
- Make sure the rear grille is not restricted since the unit must have proper air flow to be able to cool the room. It is very important not to have anything blocking the grille on the room air conditioner, like furniture, drapes, plants, etc.
- Adjust the air directional louvers upward to promote improved airflow.
- Try increasing your fan speed if that's an option for your model.
Cleaning & Maintenance
- Dirty air filter will restrict air flow. Make sure the air filter has been cleaned in the last 30 days. Air Conditioners Cleaning the Filter.
- Dirty indoor coil or blower wheel. Cleaning a Room Air Conditioner
- Ice on the coils. Defrost and return to normal settings. For more information, see Air Conditioners - How to Remove Ice on Coils.
