Upright & Chest Freezer - Temperature Control
The internal temperature of chest and upright freezers, including smaller, compact models is approximately -5 to +5 degrees Fahrenheit. Adjusting the control affects the compressor run time and do not equate to a specific temperature unless it is a model that allows you to set a specific temperature.
Checking the Temperature
Air temperature is less accurate for checking the operating temperature than is checking the food temperature. The best way to measure temperature is to place a thermometer between frozen packages or in some ice cream.

High Temperature Alarm
Many freezers, primarily chest freezers, have a high temperature alarm to let you know when the internal temperature is too warm. There is often a "Test" position on the temperature monitor control.
In order to verify that the buzzer alarm is working, just put the switch in the test position and turn the thermostat to the coldest setting. The buzzer should go off within 10 to 15 seconds.
This procedure verifies the control is working. If you get the alarm, but have corrected the issue causing it, press the Test button to reset the alarm.
Support
If you can't get the alarm to stop and the freezer is cold enough, or if you can't get the temperature cold, we recommend having a repair technician check the freezer. If the above suggestions do not resolve the issue, a service call may be needed. For repair assistance, please schedule a service appointment with
